I have been learning the flute with Carl for about 6 months now and am really enjoying it. He is a very patient and knowledgable teacher who can explain and demonstrate techniques to use. Carl has not only taught me to play the flute but to also to read music and understand the meaning behind the notes. I would definetly recommend him as a tutor of children or adults.

Being a mature student, (61 and counting!), I was a little reluctant to return to piano instruction as it had been more than 50 years since my last lesson. Having now been under the tution of Carl for some 3 mmonths I can honestly admit that he has renewed my interest, not just in playing piano but also in developing a deeper understanding of music which I have not had before. I can honestly recommend Carl as a very experinced and patient tutor of not just piano but also the flute as my daughter is also enjoying his tution.

Carl has taught both my children guitar - classical and electric - from the age of 7. He has taught both of them expertly, skillfully handling their different characters and approaches to music. One child has studied for exams and has had extra support for her GCSE in Music while the other is more interested in pop music. Both have thoroughly enjoyed their lessons over the years and I would recommend anyone to entrust their child to Carl's teaching. He has patience and provides encouragement and expert knowledge as required.

Carl has been my guitar teacher for 10 years now, and I have progressed through to working for my grade 8. He is an excellent teacher and very professional. He explains things very well and always knows what to do to help me improve.
